UNIVERSITY OF São Paulo

The best University in Brazil is the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) is a public university and is the largest one in the country. USP is one of the best in Latin America in the ranking this year is in the second place with 98,9 points.


Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo is the engineering school, offers 17 different courses in engineering such as Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical among others. The Civil engineering course of the UPS is in the 47th place in the World University Rankings.




The USP accept many foreign students, we could be on an exchange program for one to two semesters. The DRE of the National University has many agreements with the USP.

But if you want to study all the major there, are many other ways to study, The PEC-G is a program to study in Brazil is being developed by the Ministry of Foreign Relations and by the Ministry of Education of Brazil.

My name is Luis Alberto Taimal Piarpuezan. I live in Nariño Colombia and I'm from Cumbal city. I AM Twenty years old and my y birthday is on October 13ht. I study civil engineering I really like going out with my friends, I like playing ball, going to parks and spending time outside. I practice some sports, sometimes I like to play basketball, I play volleyball and I like soccer too. I also like to spend time at home. I sometimes watch TV; the news and soap operas. I really like journalistic programs.

My name is Maria Paulina Ortiz. I´m 18 years old.I´m from Medellin-Colombia.I'm skinny and Ihave brown eyes and long and curly hair. I´m studying Civil engineering in the 3rd semestar. Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world. It is located in the east of South America bordering with the Atlantic Ocean and with every county in South America except Chile and Ecuador .Brasilia is the capital of Brazil. The population is 201,032,000 people. The official language of Brazil is Portuguese. The currency is the Real (1 real is 800 Colombian pesos).

The Effigy of the Republic appears in every banknote and in some coins of Brazil, is a woman using a phrygian cap and represents the republic. 

The climate is mostly tropical, but temperate in south.  The natural resources are minerals such as: gold, petroleum, graphite, diamonds between others. The landscape is very variedad there are mountains, forest, lakes, rivers and beaches. The economy is based on agriculture, mining and industry. Brazil is the biggest producer of coffee in the world.

The most popular sport in Brazil is soccer.  Brazil had won 5 times the FIFA World Cup.

In music samba, lambada and capoera are the typical rhythms . The most important musicians are Roberto Carlos, Gustavo Lima, Michel Tello, Ivete Sangalo.

The most important celebration is Carnival in rio de Janeiro, some places to visit are The Iguazu Falls, Christ the Redeemer, Fernando de Noruega, Ouro Preto and the beaches in Fortaleza.

Sao Paulo is a special city for gastronomy. In the Brazilian food the feijoada is a typical dish in this Country, the basic ingredients are beans and fresh pork or beef. The Caipirinha is a cocktail made with lemon juice, sugar, ice and cachaça, it is the native liquor.
